'Travel Green' Meeting Planners Incentive Offer

Book your event with us now through September 30th 2008 and the Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa will pay for each of your attendee's 'Carbon Offset' for their travels to your event.

"What is 'Carbon Offsetting'?"
-- Carbon Offsetting is the calculation of how much carbon (a by-product from using fossil fuels) is produced by the transportation used to travel to a destination. This calculated amount of carbon is then 'offset' by an equal amount of non-carbon producing events. This is done in ways such as forest replenishment or alternative energy production, (solar power panels, wind energy.. etc,).

"Why 'Carbon Offsetting'?"
-- As much as we want to install solar panels and wind generators for our resort, the affordability of the technology on the scale needed is still out of reach, for now. But rather than wait till that day arrives, we can use the services of organizations such as the ones listed below to start being friendlier to our environment now, not later.

"Does 'Carbon Offsetting' really help?"
-- As with any new idea or initiative, you have supporters and critics. We have done our best to 'sort through' the bourgeoning 'Carbon Offsetting' market and choose organizations that have the best proven programs that benefit the United States. Be it non-profit or for-profit organizations.

"How does this 'Travel Green' program work?"
-- When you plan your meeting with us for a date before September 30th, we will calculate the number of attendees to your event as if they traveled 2000 miles by plane, ( the largest contributor of carbon in regards to travel), then purchase in your events name the 'Carbon Offsetting' credits based on those calculations.

"Why would 'Carbon Offsetting' be important to my event, and to my people attending it?"
-- With any initiative that lacks a tangible 'touch' and 'feel' it has to gain support and momentum from those who participate. In addition to your ability to promote your event as a 'Travel Green' event, we will emblazon on all of your collateral (room signs, event boards, notices,..etc,) within the resort with our official 'Travel Green Logo'. Additionally, all of your attendees will be given 'luggage tags' similar to what the airlines use. (With the noticible difference of being on recycled product). They too will be emblazoned with the phrases, "This Trip is Green" and "I'm Traveling Green" with website links www.travelinggreen.com and www.zerocarbontraveling.com. After all, we want more and more business to adopt incentives like this. (This is one 'marketing idea' we want to share). Plus your attendee's will be proud to 'show off' their attendance to your event and their environmental awareness on their return trips.
